  1. 01

    A quote you can read

The funding method changes the fee. The send amount, exchange rate and recipient amount stay together through review.

  2. 02

    A recipient with context

Saved recipients retain their payout destination. New recipient details are checked before the transfer can continue.

  3. 03

    A transfer you can follow

A staged delivery timeline ends in a receipt, while the same reference stays available in transfer history.

01

Start with the amount

The amount. The fee. The destination.

GBP transfers to INR, EUR and USD calculate a payment-method fee, net conversion amount and recipient total. Bank transfer and debit card options use different illustrative fees; invalid amounts produce an inline error.

A focused transfer, inside a real workspace

A quiet personal dashboard leads into a focused transfer stage with a persistent progress rail. Source amount, fee, recipient and delivery amount follow a deliberate hierarchy, so the customer can understand the cost before moving forward.

Connect the destination

Recipients that travel with the transfer

Choose a saved bank recipient or add a sample recipient with validation. The recipient’s name, account ending and destination are retained through review, confirmation and activity.

Keep every decision connected

Changing an amount, currency or payment method updates the quote. A selected recipient carries into the review, receipt and activity record. The product explains what changes at each step without losing the context of the transfer.

03

Keep the next step visible

Follow the movement

Confirmation creates a unique in-memory transfer record. Advance the local delivery simulation through payment, conversion, bank payout and delivery, then open the same record from filtered activity history.

Engineering approach / Proposed architecture

A transfer that stays traceable.

Relay would turn the amount, rate and fee shown in the quote into a durable transfer record. Its architecture needs to preserve what the customer accepted while handling funding, provider delays and payout as separate steps.

  1. 01

    Build the quote

Request a provider quote for the amount, currencies, recipient and funding method. Store its reference, fees, rate and expiry times.

  2. 02

    Confirm the terms

Recheck that the accepted quote is valid, then bind its terms and recipient details to one transfer instruction.

  3. 03

    Follow the movement

Track funding and payout through a persistent workflow. Receive provider updates and keep an explicit state when progress is uncertain.

  4. 04

    Match the outcome

Reconcile the funded amount, fees and payout against provider records. Show completion only after the required confirmation arrives.

behind the experience.

A quote is a record, not a formula

The local calculator would be replaced by a server-held provider quote. Keep quote expiry and rate expiry explicit. If the customer changes the recipient or the quote expires, obtain fresh terms and ask them to review the change.

Retry the step, preserve the transfer

Give every provider operation a stable reference and retain its response. A timeout leaves the outcome uncertain; query the existing operation before attempting another payout. Workflow retries would use the provider's idempotency support where available.

Keep the route understandable

Map provider-specific statuses into a small customer timeline while retaining the original events for operations. Returned funds, rejected instructions and delayed payouts need their own paths, with the reason visible beside the affected transfer.

A possible production stack
Quote & reviewNext.js + TypeScript
Keep amounts, fees, quote expiry and recipient details together, with clear loading and changed-quote states.
Transfer workflowTemporal + Go workers
Persist funding and payout progress across provider waits, with retries scoped to individual operations.
Transfer recordPostgreSQL
Store accepted quote snapshots, transfer references, event history and exact amounts for reconciliation.
FX & payoutProvider-specific API adapters
Translate each provider's quote, funding and payout responses into a consistent internal model. Provider selection would follow the required routes.
